GREAT Symposium

What:

The Graduate Research Education and Technology Symposium (GREAT) is a forum for trainees to present their research and strengthen their communication skills. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows compete for travel grants and cash awards through poster, oral, and Flash Talk presentation formats. The Flash Talk Competition challenges participants to deliver a three‑minute overview of their research to a broad, non‑specialized audience. The symposium also features career development panels, invited speakers, an awards ceremony, and a closing reception, all organized by a student‑led committee.

Who:

All students and postdocs on the OU Health Campus may submit abstracts in the poster, oral presentation, or flash talk competitions. Students from other OU campuses may also participate as well as high school students who have done independent research. OU faculty may also participate in faculty flash talks. All students, postdocs, faculty, and community partners are invited to view the presentations to support our trainees.

When:

The GREAT symposium will begin on April 6th, and will end with the awards ceremony and closing reception on April 8th, 2026. For details see the full schedule of events.

Where

All events and presentations will be held in the Bird Library Auditorium and Inasmuch Foundation Atrium.
