Hello! I’m Oliver and I graduated from Kalamazoo College this past summer with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Biology and German, where I gained an interest in studying neuroscience. Previously, I have worked at the University of Michigan, where I assisted with research studying the effects of chronic stress withdrawal on glucocorticoid receptors in brain reward centers. Here at OUHSC, I am a member of the Ahmad Lab, where I am studying the effects of mutant fatty acids on the synaptic properties of motor learning cells in the cerebellum (Purkinje cells) by using techniques such as patch-clamp electrophysiology and organotypic cell culturing.
I am absolutely loving my time here! PREP has given me a wonderful opportunity, and everyone involved in the program is the absolute best! Outside of research I enjoy cooking, playing video games, amateur writing, and watching sports.
