Rikki Adams

Hi! My name is Rikki Adams. I am a graduate of the illustrious Langston University! There, I majored in Biology and participated in several different activities on campus. Notably, I did research with Dr. KJ Abraham and Dr. Gnanambal Naidoo, studying plants and plant diseases. With them, I gained a fondness for research and even had the opportunity to present my research at a K-INBRE symposium. My research interests are focused on the small sides of biology, in cell biology and microbiology! In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano, reading, and journaling/scrapbooking! I am excited for the future as a part of both the PREP program and at OUHSC!

Diana Dale

Howdy, my name is Diana Dale! I graduated from Oklahoma State University in May of 2020 with dual degrees in Psychology and Microbiology-Molecular Biology. I work under the direction of Dr. Jody Summers, who is in the Department of Cell Biology at OUHSC. The long-term goal of her research consists of identifying effector molecules that can mediate scleral growth that contributes to myopia. I am interested in pursuing a degree in immunology focusing on autoimmune diseases such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. I enjoy plants, running, and hanging out with my family. I am incredibly fortunate to continue my education at OUHSC through PREP.

Jared Ruth

Hello! Welcome to the PREP BIOs. I’m just another inquisitive soul wandering through the complicated adventure that is Professional Science. I am a nontraditional, first generation student and after getting out of the Marine Corps, I pursued fitness, where I discovered the desire to constantly question, and  expand my knowledge with higher education. I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Degree in Microbiology/Cellular and Molecular Biology and I am interested in various aspects of exercise physiology, cellular development, neuroscience, and immunology. It’s my plan to pursue research in one of these fields in the future. Currently I have the privilege of working in the lab of Dr. Carol Webb, researching interactions of ARID3a and Renal Progenitor Cells, where I have acquired a healthy respect for stem cells and the complicated nature of their development. Outside of the lab, I enjoy the gym, tabletop games, occasional RPGs, camping, shooting, and trips to the farm with my Wife. I am excited to continue expanding my knowledge through the Oklahoma Health Sciences PREP program and look forward to what’s next!

Anushka Sukhadia

Hello there! My name is Anushka Sukhadia and this May I graduated from the OU Norman Campus. I studied Biology and minored in Microbiology. In the future, I would like to pursue further studies in microbiology or infectious disease, as well as expand my research abilities in the field of microbiology. In the past, I had the privilege of working with Dr. Daniel Becker on a study focusing on the presence of Bartonella in Mexican Free-tailed bats throughout their migratory journey. The experience was incredible, and I learned many basic lab techniques and skills, exposing me to the interesting world of disease ecology.

My hobbies include baking, reading, swimming, and occasionally going on nature walks when the weather isn’t too bad! I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work and learn here at OUHSC and look forward to expanding my knowledge in the lab and classroom during the PREP program!
