Graduate Students Make a Big Impact at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma

Twenty-one members of the OUHSC Graduate Student Association (GSA) recently put their commitment to community service into action, volunteering their time at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Together, these students packed an impressive 413 boxes of food for the Food for Kids Backpack Program—equivalent to 2,478 bags filled with weekend meals that will be sent home with children across the region. Their efforts help ensure that local students have access to nutritious food even when school is not in session.
The GSA, which represents all students pursuing post-baccalaureate degrees in the OU Graduate College, is dedicated to supporting academic success while fostering a strong sense of community. Through service projects like this one, the organization continues to strengthen its mission of improving the graduate student experience and connecting students to the broader local, regional, and national graduate community.
