Dr. Brent Richards has been appointed Assistant Dean for Graduate Education and Research. In this role, he will lead program review, career and professional development, recruitment, micro-credentialing, and other key initiatives.

Dr. Richards joins the Graduate College after 17 years at the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics (OSSM). He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He went on to complete a two-year IRTA postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, Maryland, before beginning his tenure at OSSM in 2008.

Dr. Richards and his wife have three children, one of whom will begin as a freshman at OU this fall. Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Dr. Richards.
