Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)

All doctoral students must successfully complete a Responsible Conduct of Research course approved by the Graduate College Responsible Conduct of Research Committee.  Doctoral students must fulfill this requirement PRIOR to enrolling in Doctoral Dissertation Research.

Doctoral students must enroll in one the following courses to fulfill this requirement::

• BMSC 5001: Scientific Inegrity
• NURS 6101: Responsible Conduct of Research
• BSE 5111: Scientific Integrity in Research

All thesis masters students must successfully complete a training program approved by the Graduate College Responsible Conduct of Research Committee. Thesis masters students must fulfill this requirement prior to enrolling in Master's Thesis Research. Departments may choose one of the following options:

Option 1:
Students successfully complete the online CITI Biomedical Responsible Conduct of Research, Basic Course

AND

complete discussion cases on RCR as part of a seminar serioes or incorporated into another course. Students must present to the department a certidficate documentation completion of the CITI course and program must verify participation in case presentations.

Option 2:
Programs may have students enroll in one of the approved courses.

• BSE 5111: Scientific Integrity in Research

All Non-thesis students must successfully complete the online CITI Biomedical Responsible Conduct of Research, Basic Course.
