ATTENDANCE POLICY: MOLECULAR AND CELLULAR SYSTEMS
Attendance at lectures and tests is mandatory. The method for enforcing attendance will be via a sign-in sheet, to be signed in the classroom prior to the start of lecture. Students arriving late (> 10 minutes) will be considered absent. Attendance includes the entirety of each lecture until dismissed by the lecturing faculty member. Leaving prior to the end of a lecture (without permission) will be considered an absence. Excused absences are described below. Two unexcused absences will result in the reduction of one letter grade in the course; any additional unexcused absences will each result in an additional reduction of one letter grade in the course.
The following are reasons for excused absences:
Unanticipated absences: personal illness, family emergencies, transportation problems, and similar issues must be reported to GPiBs administrators (GPiBS@ouhsc.edu) and course coordinators (firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com) on the date the absence occurs. The course coordinators will determine if the excuse for the absence merits an excused absence.
Anticipated absences: (i.e. Doctors appointment, Funerals, Jury Duty, etc): These must be reported to the course coordinators as soon as possible. The course coordinators will determine if the excuse for the absence merits an excused absence.
ATTENDANCE POLICY: SEMINARS
You are required to attend at least one seminar a week. The seminar can be hosted by any OUHSC department, Stephenson Cancer Center, or OMRF.
The GPiBS office will e-mail you updates regarding upcoming seminars.
Also, talk with your lab to find weekly seminars in your interested field of research.
